C’est le premier polar de T. I’m not giving anything away when I say that the central question throughout the work is the narrator’s involvement in the crime. Even the ending is satisfying which is, these days, a rarity. Cook teases all of this out at just the right pace so the book feels like a collection of genuine, interesting surprises but not a jumble of shocks designed for nothing more than their heart-thumping value.
